New Steine Bistro

12a New Steine Brighton East Sussex BN2 1PB Tel: 681546, Email Chef Stephane is from Montmartre, Paris, Hervé the restauranteur is French, his partner Georgés is French and the Bistro food and drink is, well, as French as you'll get in Brighton! The menu includes plenty of variety in tastes and flavours, with offerings for hardy meat and game eaters including pheasant, duck and beef, and dishes for fish and seafood lovers too; mussels, shark, and tuna steaks. Vegetarians may sulk with their single option but that shouldn't be much of a surprise for anyone who's ever visited France.

The Castle Inn

London Road Hickstead West Sussex RH17 5LZ Tel: - No - 01444 881 223, Email The Castle Inn, Hickstead, is one of those places you could easily miss or not know of its existence. A twenty minute drive up the A23 is too much to ask of many Brightonians who have an abundance of good restaurants within walking distance. However, if you did venture past Preston Park you?re in for a surprise.
